The Convent is a nunnery in France where Queen Mary was sent to be raised in hiding.
Season One
In Pilot, Mary, some nuns, and other children are playing a game outside before they all go to the table and eat. When at the table Mary notices one of the nuns staring at her and looking ill, suddenly that nun's ear begins to bleed and her face falls into her bowl. One of the nun's escorts Mary away telling her that it was an assassination attempt. Mary is led to a carriage that will take her back to French Court. Before she leaves Rose tells Mary about the ghost in the castle. Mary had stayed at the convent for some years to protect her from enemies.
