Hungary is a country located in Europe is a landlocked country in Central Europe. It is situated in the Carpathian Basin.
Hungary is bordered by Slovakia to the north, Romania to the east, Serbia to the south, Croatia to the southwest, Slovenia to the west, Austria to the northwest, and Ukraine to the northeast. The country's capital and largest city is Budapest. Hungary is a member of the European Union, NATO, the OECD, the Visegrád Group, and the Schengen Area. The official language is Hungarian, which is the most widely spoken non-Indo-European language in Europe.
Before 400 AD, Hungary was recognized as a kingdom of Atilla the Hun. In 896 the Huns returned to Pannonian basin led by King Arpad who's son later the King of Hungary, Stephen I. He was crowned on December 25, 1000 with the crown of Atilla the Christian King of the Huns. Hungary was teared apart by the Treaty of Trianon after the WWI and lost two third of her territories. This regard Hungary is the only country which bordered herself.
